🌮 The battle for "Taco Tuesday" is officially over
Its not the battle we wanted, but the battle that Taco John's couldn't afford to fight (literally)

Welcome to Thursday. This week brought on a handful of interesting events. Everything from Microsoft being denied its acquisition of Activision Blizzard, to the conclusion (albeit anticlimactic) of the battle for the “Taco Tuesday” trademark, to the groundbreaking discovery that clients putting their agencies under review is massively expensive for everyone involved (duh).
In some cases, when clients put their agencies up for review, it costs them $400K+ to review options, participate in new pitches, etc. On the other side, agencies spend just as much defending the business… A brutal, expensive process all around…
Let’s jump in!
This week in marketing

This is where we share our favorite ad each week, some old, some new👇🏼
Amazon released this spot a couple of months ago, and it’s simply genius. It gives the viewer a sense of possibility, that they might not be stuck in their monotonous job they hate. There is a shorter version (:30) but it doesn’t capture the monotonous part as well as this longer (1:00) version.
Enjoy!

Do you have your content buddy?
One of the most underrated strategies in social media is not going it alone. It sounds too simple, but a handful of people creating content together and promoting each other is a proven strategy for substantial organic growth.
A golden example of this is David Dobrik. Regardless of your opinion of David, he made great content on Vine, and he had a group of friends around him that he collaborated with and promoted on a regular basis. David and his friends would constantly appear in each other's videos, tag each other, and "revined" each other when the "revine" feature became available.
TIMEOUT-
For those of you maybe unfamiliar with Vine, a “revine” functions the exact same way as a retweet. If you’re not familiar with Twitter, go back to sleep🙂
TIME IN-
For David Dobrik, this collaboration strategy continued long after migrating his focus from Vine to YouTube.
Collaborating on content across various pages and platforms is a game-changer for growth. It goes beyond simply reaching a wider audience; it allows for the cross-pollination of audiences, resulting in a powerful synergy of followers and engagement. When you collaborate, you tap into the unique strengths, expertise, and creativity of your partners, bringing forth innovative ideas that may have otherwise remained unexplored. This collaboration sparks inspiration and pushes boundaries, leading to remarkable content that captivates and resonates with both your existing audience and the audience of your collaborators. The result? Organic growth, increased exposure, and an exciting journey of exploration and creativity.
(How many times did we use the word “friends” in this week’s Strategy time?)
